The nerf bars that you see most often are not installed at the factory. This is a way that people will customize and change the appearance of their truck or suv. The nerf bar can be installed using the factory mounts, which are holes and brackets in the vehicles. The types of nerve bars you can buy are going to be tube like metal pieces that will be bent and fit for your particular vehicle. You can buy chrome nerve bars, or you can buy polished metal nerve bars. You can paint nerve bars or you can coat them with a plastic covering. Nerf bars also come in plastic, that are not heavy duty but that are created only to change the overall look and feel of the vehicle.
